Too often people refuse to believe they are capable of achieving the same heights or success as others. The others were born with a silver spoon in their mouth and thus have an inherent advantage. The others are smarter or more talented. The others have more time to pursue their goals.
While any of the above might be true, they are not causes for your failure. Many self-made millionaires were born in poverty. Many self-made millionaires possess an average intellect. Many self-millionaires were cramped for time when they began their journey to riches. Some individuals may have a leg up on you, but since it's not a race there is no way their success can hamper your goals or efforts to improve your lot in life.
Note: I used money to illustrate my point since it's an example that we can all instantly relate with. Ultimately the above example holds true for any goal we might have – almost all goals can be achieved with the proper dedication and game plan.
Unless you are willing to risk taking a step, you will never move forward. If you don't dare to take action to pursue your dreams, they will remain just that… dreams. You would be surprised at just how far the average person can go once they lay down a goal and take the steps necessary to achieve it.
Much of what was just said is pretty obvious, and you'll hear it from just about any self-improvement guru, so I won't belabor the point. But even though everyone knows on a surface level that action is required for success, not everyone truly believes it or cares to put themselves out on a limb. Too many of us would rather sit back and blame the world or our tough circumstances for our lot in life rather than take action and change our life and/or future.
In order to achieve your goals, you must take action.
